Some Things To Be Aware Of:
Hedgehog breeding, which I have been doing for about three years now, has opened a wide world of opportunity for me as a disabled person. I have Borderline Personality Disorder among many other mental health diagnoses and catch a lot of crap for not "doing my part for society" from people who don't "believe" in mental illness. It's seriously the most frustrating thing to deal with when people ask "what do you do?" and I answer "I'm disabled" and then they reply "but you LOOK fine". Just because my face isn't exploding in boils, I'm not hooked up to oxygen, or I'm not in a wheelchair (anymore-- I was for a while) does not mean that I'm not disabled.
That all said, if I say something on this site that seems inflammatory, I really do not wish to start any drama. I would appreciate it greatly that, if you think I have said something that doesn't sit well with you, you would point it out to me before getting upset-- I may have just worded it incorrectly and did not realise it. I want to thank you in advance for your help in keeping the peace on this wonderful forum.
